Can we slow down the ageing process?
It is an arguable question but we can halt the process only to some extent due to the fact that ageing is an irreversible process.
As ageing is an internal process, the measures you take should start should bring up changes within your body (cells).
Here are certain steps to follow to be healthy
1. Diet - It is important to have a healthy meal.
2. Alcohol - cutting down the amount or completely avoiding it.
3. Sleep – According to studies, an eight hours of uninterrupted sleep is necessary.
4. Hydration – Drinking 2 litres of normal water in a day can slow down the ageing process.
5. Limit excess sugar and salt
6. Avoiding processed foods.
A solution for wrinkled skin [1]
While following the aforementioned recommendations which can make changes internally, it is also important to have a regular skin care routine.
1. Wash your face at least twice daily.
2. Remove the make up prior to sleep.
3. Using moisturizer or emollients after shower retains the moisture of the skin and prevents drying of the skin.
4. Try to use paraben free products for skin.
5. Avoid prolonged shower in hot water

Can exercise slow down premature ageing? [2]
Adequate amount of exercise can increase the basal metabolic rate, thereby slowing down the process of ageing.
However, it is important to avoid strenuous exercises which can actually do more harm than good.
Mental health and ageing
Mental health is crucial for a healthy and happy life. When we are under stress, our body produces ample amount of stress hormones (cortisol), which can increase the ageing. Therefore, it is important to have a relaxed mind.
Cosmetics and ageing
Cosmetics products are good to some extent,but the results are temporary. In other words, it is a temporary solution to permanent issues.
Intermittent fasting and ageing Many studies have shown that intermittent fasting have anti-ageing benefits,but it is not yet fully understood. It is believed that intermittent fasting reduces oxidation stress, which is the leading cause of ageing and age related illness.
What is the key?
Perseverance is the key. In order to stay young, one has to earnestly work for it everyday.
The aforementioned steps are not achievable in a single day. It requires daily practice.
Is there any medical treatment to stay younger? [3,4,5]
Although, there are plenty of treatment available which can help to retain youthfulness, I believe that we cannot alter the DNA of ageing.
